Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer
Richard Ramirez was born in El Paso, Texas. His childhood was definitely not something you would call ideal. From being exposed to the horrible things that his cousin went through and did in the Vietnam war to being present when his cousin fatally shot his wife, Ramirez did not have a great start.
It wasn’t until a string of horrible and violent crimes began plaguing the residents of Los Angeles in the summer of 1985 that Ramirez’s name became known. What started off as a breaking and entering coupled with murder quickly turned into this massive list of horror. Some of the crimes Ramirez committed were murder, rape, Satanism, child abduction, breaking and entering, burglary and child molestation.
Ramirez was ultimately caught when he left the same footprint in many different crime scenes. He also had a few friends and acquaintances who could not help talking to the police. He was eventually found guilty of all the murder, sexual assault charges and burglary charges. He succumbed to cancer in 2013 while in prison awaiting the death sentence.
